Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse Step Down Unit

Schedule: Night Shift 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Assignment Details:

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36.00

Requirements:

• Current RN license in state of practice
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor
• NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire
• 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience in the last 2 years (preferred)
• Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course (preferred)
• Completion of Critical Care Course (preferred)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the step-down unit, including appropriate interventions for stable and emergent situations.
• Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage care during life-threatening emergencies.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy, including blood products.
• Care for and maintain indwelling catheters and drains, ensuring safe use of medical equipment.
• Supervise and delegate responsibilities to ancillary personnel in accordance with their scope of practice.
• Collaborate with team members and demonstrate knowledge in post-operative care for patients.

Compliance / Notes:

Must float to Medical-Surgical unit if needed.
