Senior Manager, Strategic Finance - AI Business

As we scale this transformation, we're looking for a senior FP&A manager who wants more than a finance role, someone who wants to partner directly with our senior leadership team to help define what's next for Birdeye. What You'll Do You will build the revenue model, the unit economics, and the operating plan for an emerging business without years of historical data to rely on. That means shaping the pricing and consumption economics, sizing the opportunity, standing up reporting for an emerging product line with limited history, and getting to a plan the CEO and the board can underwrite. This is a build role, not a reporting role. Success is measured by the quality of the decisions you drive on pricing, go-to-market investment, and growth, not by the volume of analysis you produce. This role reports to the VP of FP&A and partners closely with the leaders building Birdeye's emerging AI business, with significant exposure to the CFO, CEO, and executive leadership team. Responsibilities Financial Ownership : Lead annual planning, quarterly forecasting, and monthly P&L/expense management for the new business line, partnering closely with the VP of FP&A and C-suite. Revenue & Unit Economics : Build and defend the core revenue model from scratch—evaluating pricing, consumption economics, segment mix, gross margins, and cost-to-serve as the business scales. Reporting & Infrastructure : Stand up key AI metrics (ARR/ACV, token usage, retention, expansion, segment performance) and build executive-ready board materials focused on clear recommendations over data dumps. Operating Cadence : Establish monthly and quarterly business reviews and partner with GTM, RevOps, BI, and Accounting to reconcile inputs and track actuals vs. plan. Process Automation : Leverage AI and automation tools to optimize financial workflows on a trusted data foundation. What You Bring AI-Native / SaaS Experience : 6+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, or consulting— with 3+ years in an AI-native or high-growth SaaS business owning a revenue model, operating plan, or business unit P&L. AI & Consumption Economics : Strong command of core SaaS dynamics combined with fluency in AI/usage-based models, including consumption pricing, token economics, compute cost-to-serve, and evolving unit economics. Strategic Modeling from Scratch : Proven ability to build financial models from a blank sheet, establish defensible metrics before historical data exists, and defend strategic positions to C-suite leaders and the Board. Ambiguity & Data Fluency : Thrives in high-velocity environments where metrics are still being defined. Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with hands‑on experience reconciling disparate data across CRM, billing, and accounting systems. Executive Presence : Ability to translate complex commercial and technical data into clear, decision‑ready narratives for executive audiences. Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field; MBA preferred.
