About Healing Warriors Program
Healing Warriors Program is a Fort Collins based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that improves the wellness of veterans and their families through no-cost, non-narcotic integrative care, including acupuncture, Healing Touch, and craniosacral therapy. Since 2013, we have delivered thousands of treatment sessions each year to veterans, active-duty service members, and their families across Northern Colorado and the Front Range. Our vision is a suicide-free world where all veterans and their families thrive.

The Opportunity
Healing Warriors Program is seeking an experienced fundraising professional to lead donor development, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and stewardship efforts throughout Northern Colorado. This is primarily a development and fundraising role , with success measured by the ability to build meaningful donor relationships and generate sustainable philanthropic revenue that advances our mission of providing no-cost, non-narcotic care for veterans and their families. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Development Director will cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community supporters while managing the fundraising pipeline from prospect identification through long-term retention. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in fundraising, business development, sales, or donor relations, is confident making fundraising asks and securing financial support, and thrives in a mission-driven environment where initiative, accountability, and measurable results directly impact organizational growth and veteran wellness. This hybrid position combines remote flexibility with regular donor visits, community engagement, events, and meetings across Northern Colorado.

What You Will Do
•        Lead fundraising relationships. Build, manage, solicit, and steward a pipeline of individual donors, major gift prospects, corporate sponsors, foundations, and community partners, with personal accountability for annual fundraising goals established with the Executive Director.
•        Grow partnerships. Identify and cultivate business, civic, healthcare, and veteran-community partnerships that generate sponsorships, workplace giving, third-party events, and referral relationships.
•        Drive event sponsorship and fundraising. Secure sponsorships, underwriting, auction contributions, and fundraising revenue for Healing Warriors signature events, including the annual Swing4Vets Golf Tournament and future fundraising initiatives. Support near-term events already on the calendar from day one.
•        Serve as a community ambassador. Represent Healing Warriors Program at donor meetings, community events, veteran service organization meetings, Stand Downs, and partner functions; deliver presentations that convert awareness into philanthropic support.
•        Cultivate major gifts. Develop and execute strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors capable of making transformational investments in Healing Warriors Program.
•        Steward every gift. Design and execute donor stewardship that retains and upgrades supporters: timely acknowledgment, impact reporting, and personal touchpoints.
•        Run a disciplined pipeline. Maintain accurate, current records of all contacts, asks, and gifts in our CRM; report pipeline and results to the Executive Director weekly and to the Board monthly.
•        Collaborate. Partner with the Executive Director on messaging, campaigns, and events, and with the finance team on revenue tracking and gift documentation.

What Success Looks Like
•        First 90 days: A qualified pipeline of individual and corporate prospects is documented in the CRM, stewardship of existing donors is current, and at least three new partnership conversations are in progress. The introductory period includes a specific revenue expectation, established together at hire.
•        First Year: Annual fundraising goals are met or exceeded through a combination of individual giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and special events; donor retention improves measurably; new donor acquisition demonstrates growth; and Healing Warriors maintains a strong and visible presence throughout Northern Colorado.

What You Bring

• Three or more years of demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, business development, major gifts, sponsorship sales, or revenue-generating relationship management, with examples of measurable fundraising or revenue outcomes. 
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors and corporate sponsors preferred.
• Strong relationship builder who is comfortable making direct asks and closing commitments.
• Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of CRM-based pipeline management and disciplined record keeping.
• Connection to, and genuine respect for the veteran and military family community; existing Northern Colorado networks are a strong plus.
• Self-directed and accountable; thrives with clear goals and high autonomy.
• A collaborative, transparent team player who keeps colleagues in the loop, coordinates across departments, and builds trust internally as well as externally.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally, including occasional evening and weekend events.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $48,000-$62,000 annually (0.75 FTE), based on experience.
Classification: This position may be nonexempt and may be eligible for overtime pay under the Colorado Overtime and Minimum Pay Standards Order. 
Performance Incentive: In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for an annual performance bonus of up to 15% of base salary. Bonus eligibility is based on achievement of mutually agreed-upon goals, including fundraising revenue, donor acquisition, donor retention, corporate partnerships, monthly giving growth, and other key development benchmarks. Bonus payments are determined using a tiered achievement structure and are not calculated as a commission or percentage of gifts raised. Revenue from foundation, government, and other institutional grants sourced by the organization's grants manager is excluded from the bonus calculation.

Illustrative Bonus Structure
Achievement of approximately 50% of annual development goals: 7% of base salary [MB2] 

• Achievement of approximately 75% of annual development goals: 10% of base salary
• Achievement of 100% or more of annual development goals, including donor stewardship, retention, corporate partnerships, and revenue targets: up to 15% of base salary

Bonus milestones are earned when the corresponding new revenue threshold is met and the associated gift or grant funds are received. Earned amounts are paid with the final regular payroll of the calendar year. If employment ends before year end, any milestone already earned as of the separation date is paid on a prorated basis. Milestones not yet reached at separation are not earned and are not paid. 

Introductory Period: Employment is subject to a 90-day introductory period.

Employment with Healing Warriors Program is at will. Either the employee or Healing Warriors Program may end the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Nothing in this announcement creates a contract of employment or a guarantee of employment for any period of time.
