Dental Assistant

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assisting in the dental treatment of patients, including seating patients, providing dentist with instruments and equipment, and mixing filling and impression materials.

* Cleaning, sterilizing, and assembling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for specific dental procedures.

* Assisting in the preparation of cast models by preparing required materials, taking impressions of teeth, and pouring and trimming models.

* Take and download oral radiographs used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

* Record treatment results on patient's dental record; instruct patients in the care of teeth and appliances; provide instructional materials as required.

* Schedule and confirm appointments.

* Requisition dental supplies and equipment.

* Perform routine maintenance on instruments and equipment.

* Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIRED:

* High School Diploma or equivalent;

* Minimum of one (1) year experience in a dental practice or completion of an accredited, approved Dental Assistant program;

* Bilingual preferred;

* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships with patients and co-workers;

* Basic Computer Skills demonstrating specifically basic skills in word, excel, inter office email systems.
