Senior Accountant

Accounting SupportResponsible for providing accounting support and assistance to the Director of Finance in carrying out the overall financial and accounting function for the organization. Includes facilitating the accurate and timely processing of contributions received, managing payroll preparation and payment, and preparation of federal grant and reimbursement requisitions.ResponsibilitiesPrepare Daily Cash, Daily Forecast and Daily Deposits Reports.Maintain daily bank account reconciliations.Record daily accounts receivable transactions.Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations.Prepare grant budgets and reports.Prepare and reconcile monthly grant billings.Process bi-weekly payroll.Perform month-end close duties.Prepare and record journal entries.Prepare monthly variance analysis.Reviews, investigates and corrects errors and inconsistencies in journal entries, documents and reports.Assist with the budgeting and forecasting processes.Assist with the preparation of the annual financial audit and 990 tax return.Assist with designing and implementing accounting process improvements.Document business processes and procedures.Special projects and other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in accounting required.Great Plains software experience preferred.3 years of accounting experience required; 5 years of accounting experience preferred.Grant billing, reporting, and budgeting experience required.Non-profit experience required.Demonstrates exceptional IT, Excel/spreadsheet and Office products skills.Demonstrates exceptional ability to be detail oriented.Demonstrates exceptional ability to work harmoniously with all co-workers.Demonstrates exceptional ability to learn quickly.Demonstrates exceptional ability to plan, organize, schedule and budget time.Demonstrates exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks.Demonstrates exceptional written and oral communication skills.Relationships:Internal: Communicate with Club staff, administrative staff and President.External: Communicate with Board Members, donors, vendors and general public.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
