Specializing in commercial HVAC, the Technician performs maintenance, repair, replacement, and modernization of HVAC systems in order to achieve regulated climatic conditions. Position requires the Technician has extensive knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to recognize and determine the most efficient method for diagnosing, testing and correcting malfunctions. The ideal EMI HVAC Technician is EPA Universal Certified and has the skill level to make repairs on a variety of systems.TOTAL COMPENSATION PACKAGE $37.95/per hr. to $53.22/per hr. $32.86 - $48.13/ hr. (DOE) plus $5.09 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!*The posted compensation range reflects the estimated total compensation package for this role at the time of posting, including hourly wages and applicable Health & Welfare (H&W) benefits under the Service Contract Act (SCA). Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, certifications, location, and contract requirements.Key Responsibilities:Work on various types of HVAC units: split package, residential style, and up to light commercial, mini-splits, VAV's and AHUUse a multi-meter to check voltage lampUse a torch for brazingPrepare work orders and cost materials estimatesMay assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniquesEssential Skills:Work independently, a self-starterRead schematic diagramsUnderstand the Refrigeration cycle with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and recommend repair strategiesPRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment.
