Why This Role Exists This position supports our General Manager in overseeing daily operations across both store locations. We need someone who can keep things running smoothly without constant supervision — someone who takes ownership of their responsibilities and brings a steady, reliable presence to the team every shift. The Role This is a hands-on, part-time leadership position with pay ranging from $16.00 to $20.00 per hour depending on experience and skill level. We are fully prepared to train the right person. What we cannot train is attitude, reliability, and a genuine care for the people you work with. What You’ll Do Assign and oversee daily tasks for store team members across both locations Place weekly inventory orders through our vendor catalog and manage incoming merchandise Handle and track special orders placed on behalf of customers Oversee repair and key-cutting services performed in-store Maintain stock levels for high-turnover items such as birdseed, keys, and hardware staples Be present and engaged on the sales floor, assisting customers directly with product questions and solutions Count cash drawers and complete daily sales reporting sheets Communicate trends, operational needs, and issues to the General Manager in weekly check-ins Assist with receiving, organizing, and displaying merchandise Open and close the store as scheduled Support onboarding and day-to-day coaching of team members Participate in ongoing product and vendor training to grow your knowledge of our inventory What We’re Looking For The right candidate brings the mindset — we will teach the rest. You should be comfortable with the following: Standing and walking for the majority of your shift Lifting and moving merchandise up to 60 lbs Stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, and assisting customers with heavy items Working with both hand tools and power tools as needed Schedule & Travel Part-time hours; exact schedule determined based on store needs and candidate availability Weekend availability required on occasion This role supports both Greive Hardware locations in Kettering; travel between stores is part of the role Periodic meetings or training sessions may be held off-site Compensation & Benefits $16.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level Employee discount on store merchandise Additional benefits negotiable based on experience and fit How to Apply We keep it simple.
