Description:
Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following:
Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an Emergency Team.
There will be an expectation to stay until after the event passes or be part of the relief team.
Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary.
By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above terms.
You should report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs.
You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above.
Unit accepts first-time travelers.
Adequate experience in patient care is required.
Staffing ratios are 1:5/6 for general care and may be adjusted for patients on drips or with specific needs.
Daily census is approximately 28 patients with a bed capacity of 35.
The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy.
Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics.
Additional procedures will include TPN, wound care, drain care, foley catheter care, and IV narcotic administration.
Due to the nature of this role, flexibility and adaptability in high-pressure situations are essential.
All required certifications must be maintained, and NURSYS reports must be up to date prior to employment.
Modules may be completed during orientation and are factored into orientation hours.
