This Maintenance Mechanic role supports a highly automated production facility in Wilsonville, Oregon on the grave shift (10:00pm to 6:00am). You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial production and processing equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems. The position involves hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of machinery in a fast-paced, clean, food-grade environment.

• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Analyze test results, machine error messages, and feedback from operators to accurately diagnose equipment problems.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery to maintain optimal performance.
• Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and carry out necessary repairs.
• Examine parts for defects such as breakage, excessive wear, or other signs of failure and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions using voltmeters and other testing devices.
• Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy and safety of repairs.
• Reassemble equipment following inspections, testing, or repairs, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
• Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair machine electrical and controls issues, including 3-phase motor replacements, photo eye adjustments, servo systems, machine timing, and circuit replacements.
• Cut and weld metal to repair broken parts, fabricate new components, and assist in assembling new equipment.
• Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators to ensure proper use and basic troubleshooting.
• Record parts and materials used during maintenance activities and request or order replacement parts and materials as needed.
• Collaborate with production and other maintenance personnel to prioritize repairs and support continuous operations.
• Perform other tasks and special assignments as requested by management to support facility maintenance and improvement initiatives.

• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills applicable to industrial production and processing equipment.
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant maintenance, mechanical, or electrical field, or completion of technical schooling in a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with motors, pumps, valves, boilers, hydraulics, conveyors, compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
• Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems, including PLC-based controls, robotics, and automation equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing 3-phase motor systems and related electrical components.
• Experience with machine controls, including photo eyes, servos, and timing circuits.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments such as voltmeters.
• Capability to perform mechanical repairs, including disassembly, inspection, replacement, and reassembly of components.
• Basic welding and metal cutting skills sufficient to repair or fabricate parts and assist in equipment assembly.
• Ability to work independently on the grave shift (10:00pm to 6:00am) and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Background in roles such as lube technician, automotive mechanic, technical military positions (wheeled mechanic, aviation technician, avionics technician), or semiconductor technician is highly transferable.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control schematics.
• Welding and fabrication experience for maintenance and equipment upgrades.
• Experience in production maintenance within a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, and automation platforms such as ABB and Siemens.
• Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety and reliability.
• Good communication skills to work effectively with operators and other team members.
• Willingness to work overtime when available.

The role is based in a fast-paced, highly automated, and clean food-grade production facility in Wilsonville, Oregon, working the grave shift from 10:00pm to 6:00am. The environment centers on modern industrial machinery, robotics, automation systems, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and other production equipment, with extensive use of electro-mechanical systems and diagnostic tools such as voltmeters. The facility maintains strict cleanliness and hygiene standards, and employees must be comfortable wearing hair nets and face nets if they have facial hair. Overtime is consistently available for those who want it, offering additional earning potential in a stable, well-organized production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.

The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $33.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
