Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Neuro
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shift, 4x12 hour schedule (18:45 - 07:15). Must work every other weekend.
The MedSurg/Neuro unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. The unit cares primarily for stroke patients along with other neuro diagnoses, including post-operative neurosurgery patients. The RN will participate in providing patient care, with a focus on critical neuro-related conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a patient ratio of 1:6.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data and dysrhythmias.
- Provide care for stroke and neuro patients, including those with epilepsy and brain injuries.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and patient care planning.
- Float to other MedSurg/Telemetry areas as needed.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct MedSurg experience.
- Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts.
- Current BCLS, NIHSS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Must pass EKG Testing prior to start.
- Valid NC or compact state RN license.
