Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the Client. Evidence of completion of a physical assessment skills course. Evaluate health care needs of students. Maintain records as deemed necessary by the school physician and in compliance with State laws. Administer medications and maintain records including dosages and untoward effects. Educate students in personal hygiene and total health care. Keep current medical records on each student. Conduct routine surveys and annual screenings. Keep parents apprised of student health status. Manage student emergencies related to accidents and health care. Communicate student health care needs to the instructional staff. Take sign language classes for communication with deaf students. Good planning, organization, and communication skills; injury assessment skills helpful. Must utilize appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
