Snowflake Architect

Responsibilities Lead small to medium agile program pods to design, build and deploy holistic Snowflake‑based solutions. Lead development on at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Maintain an active Snowflake SnowPro Core certification and obtain one advanced Snowflake certification. Serve as solution architect with a Delivery Owner to design complex delivery patterns, implement solutions, and build components of clients’ data platforms. Lead delivery pods in Agile ceremonies, facilitate design sessions, decompose complex tasks, and ensure timely completion of assigned backlog items. Contribute to the Snowflake CoE’s internal capability growth and partnership initiatives. Collaborate closely with other Slalom data leaders to drive sales, recruiting, account management, consulting, and operational excellence across the capability. Act as a Snowflake SME, supporting business development efforts and guiding clients through best practices in architecture, core data engineering, and scalable analytics. Mentor and serve as a thought leader, recommending emerging technologies and tools aligned with client goals and future state data strategies. Bring a business‑first lens to every conversation, driving impactful tech‑enabled outcomes that elevate clients’ competitive edge. Develop and implement data solutions using Snowflake, working with the team to leverage its capabilities. Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of learning and innovation, driving best practices in data management and performance optimization. Engage with clients to understand business challenges and deliver solutions that align with their goals, utilizing Snowflake’s capabilities to enhance outcomes. Requirements 8+ years of data engineering experience with at least 4+ years of hands‑on Snowflake delivery or development experience. Expertise in hands‑on development with Cloud Data Warehouses (Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery). Advanced Object‑Oriented Programming skills (Java, Python). Experience with NoSQL Databases (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB). Experience with Container Management Systems (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS). Experience with Big Data tools and frameworks: Spark, Hadoop, Presto, Amazon EMR. Advanced SQL experience. Hands‑on experience developing data pipelines: batch and/or streaming. Experience with data modeling. Experience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (Amazon SageMaker, Azure ML Studio). Experience with streaming data ingestion (Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka). Experience with semantic modeling or visual analytics (Tableau, Power BI). Experience with modern data workflows & orchestration (Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster).
