Chief Development Officer

Ambitious and experienced, the full-time Chief Development Officer will guide the organization's fundraising strategy, manage a team of fundraising professionals, and engage with donors to expand funding sources while working remotely. Key responsibilities Direct all fundraising efforts, including major gifts and a digital membership program, while maintaining relationships with top donors Lead and inspire a development team, establishing performance metrics and fostering a collaborative culture Collaborate with executive leadership to set annual budgets and fundraising goals, leveraging insights from various departments Required qualifications At least 12 years of experience in development and fundraising, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth exceeding $17M annually Demonstrated success in identifying and closing major gifts in the six- and seven-figure range Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape, preferably within journalism, criminal justice, or social justice sectors B.A. degree required, with familiarity in nonprofit fundraising tools and systems, including Salesforce Prior experience in a unionized environment is preferred
