Apply here to love your work and who you work with, every day!PurposeThe Field Maintenance Technician role is responsible for completing maintenance services, predictive maintenance services, and providing comprehensive reports of findings. This includes installation of bearings, drive belts and sheaves, chains and sprockets, laser alignments, dynamic balancing, troubleshooting, and general industrial mechanical repairs on rotating equipment. It will also include installation and maintenance on conveyor systems and single and multipoint lubrication units. Vibration Analysis data will be collected as needed and there could be future vibration analysis training for the successful candidate.This position requires being located in the Kansas City metro area with a willingness to travel extensively within 4 hours (sometimes with short notice) as required. The position is also requires being on call, working overtime as needed, some weekends and holidays as required.Major ResponsibilitiesDiagnose faulty bearings, worn belts, sheaves, couplings, and other components on rotating equipmentSafely and properly replace all components listed above in a timely manner using the proper tools/methodsDiagnose and repair highly critical plant equipment with exceptional accuracy and speed to reduce downtimeAccurately diagnose equipment problems and convey findings with confidence and practical solutionsDevelop and maintain strong customer relationships founded on trust, respect, and reliabilityAssist Field Vibration Analysts with collecting route data at multiple plantsWork overtime per customer requirements and be able to answer calls at any time of day or nightService 24/7 customers and be ready to work whenever emergency breakdowns happenWork alone or in a small team to complete jobsComplete assigned tasks efficiently with little supervisionAssume management duties when necessaryTravel within 4 hours of Kansas City metro area is normal with some overnight staysPerform other duties as assigned and directedMinimum Qualifications and SkillsMust possess a customer first focus and attitude, and be able to work with individuals of all levelsMaintain a positive team oriented attitude while completing tasks with coworkersWillingness to work fair share of on-call/overtime dutiesStrong mechanical aptitudeKnowledge of mechanical equipment and good problem solving/diagnostic skillsIndustrial maintenance skills including bearing installation, some rigging, removing and installing interference fit couplings and bearingsGeneral installation techniques for various mechanical componentsShaft and sheave alignmentsMust be highly motivated with strong work ethicAbility to effectively and professionally prepare reports for customers after each projectMust comply with all OSHA and safety regulations and company standardsA valid driver's license is requiredVehicle must be reliable and able to carry all needed tools and equipment to the jobsiteMust be able to sit, squat, stand, lift, and carry heavy equipment on a regular basisSome hand tools will be required (a list will be provided)Ability to travel and work at job sites outside the KC area with expense report requirementsAbility to work under pressure to meet critical deadlinesStrong Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google app skills are a plusForklift experience is a plus but not requiredFuture/Training CapabilitiesDynamic Field Balancing - Single plane and two plane techniquesUse of vibration analysis equipment and SKF diagnostic softwareFormal training on vibration analysis as time and schedule permitsPosition Type/Expected Work HoursThis is a full-time position 40 hours per week based out of our Merriam, KS headquarters location. This position requires being located in the Kansas City metro area with a willingness to travel extensively within 4 hours (sometimes with short notice) as required. The position also calls for being on call, working overtime as needed, some weekends and holidays as required. The majority of work will be Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
