Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Malden, MA for a K-12 School Counselor. The School Counselor will provide direct support to students to address academic, social, and emotional needs. Key responsibilities include conducting individual and group counseling sessions, collaborating with educators and families, and intervening in crisis situations when necessary. The counselor will also actively participate in the development and implementation of programs that promote mental well-being and a positive school environment.
Qualifications
- Skills in Student Counseling, including the ability to provide academic, social, and emotional support to students.
- Expertise in Counseling and Career Counseling, with a focus on individualized planning and future readiness for students.
- Knowledge of Psychology principles and practices to effectively address the needs of children and adolescents.
- Understanding and experience in addressing Mental Health concerns, including support, intervention, and referrals as needed.
- Effective interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with educators, families, and external resources.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to adapt to diverse student populations.
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required. Certification in School Counseling preferred.
- Experience working with K-12 students and familiarity with state education standards are beneficial.
