OakLeaf Clinics - Pine Grove Family Medicine is looking for a seasonal Medical Records Clerk! 

OakLeaf Clinics is dedicated to providing patients with compassion, trust, and a lifetime of individualized care. Our healthcare network consists of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dietitians, nurses, respiratory therapists, medical assistants, and support staff working together with laboratory and imaging services to care for communities throughout the Chippewa Valley and surrounding areas.

Position description

As a Medical Records Clerk, you will maintain patient files by accurately scanning medical records into the electronic medical record. You’ll assist in responding to requests for medical records and process letters and reports. Additional duties may include retrieving patient schedules, distributing lab reports to physicians, and materials to other departments, answering incoming phones calls for records requests and processing referrals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations and guidelines
• Telephone contact with physicians, clinics, hospitals, and/or outside agencies relating to patient needs
• Submit data to state as required by law
• Maintain patient confidentiality of records/information
• Provide diagnosis coding duties to other
• Additional duties as assigned
• Work a flexible schedule within the clinic or department hours based on clinical demand or need

Qualifications 

• Minimum of a High School diploma; Associates Degree preferred
• At least one-year relevant experience and/or training
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
• Comfortable working in a flexible team environment
• Ability to multi-task, handle a high volume of calls and prioritize daily tasks
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-task quickly effectively in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a clinic or office setting.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Major activities of this job include frequent sitting for extended periods of time, some walking or standing, and light physical effort performed on a level surface. Some carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, reaching, and squatting are involved in the medical office. Use a computer and telephone and employ writing and organizational skills. Manual dexterity, mobility and good vision that includes near acuity, depth perception and accommodation are physical requirements necessary for technical work.
