Job Title: Warehouse Worker Job Description

The primary role of a warehouse worker is to efficiently receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards. This position plays a crucial part in ensuring that operations run smoothly and effectively.

• Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer.
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
• Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
• Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
• Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5-7 years of experience required.
• Willing to work a flexible shift.
• Willing and able to stand at least 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to perform tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willing and able to carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work in a climate-controlled, clean facility. The dress code is casual, allowing jeans, khakis, t-shirts, and sneakers, but requires closed-toe shoes. Sleeveless shirts, shorts, and certain other attire are not permitted. Employees are allowed to have one earbud in to listen to music while working. Watching a YouTube video about the work environment is recommended to get a better understanding of the facility.

This is a Contract position based out of Mechanicsville, VA.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Mechanicsville,VA.
