Security Project Manager

DescriptionLooking for a detail-oriented, assertive, and experienced Project Manager. This Project Manager will be responsible for the coordination, execution, control and completion of multiple Information Technology projects for the Security team, which includes managing multiple work streams, closely coordinating and communicating with project stakeholders, and ensuring consistency with other executing projects. This position leads the planning and execution of security projects, facilitates the definition of security deliverables in collaboration with the stakeholders, defines project tasks and resource requirements in conjunction with security SMEs, and develops detailed project plans. This role will assemble and coordinate project resources in collaboration with resource managers ensuring appropriate skills are obtained as well as engaging appropriate stakeholders to support and deliver work products that meet business goals and objectives. All projects will be working solely for a Federal Civilian customer. Using a combination of management skills and specific security system knowledge, this role will be a key resource in meeting the customer’s Security requirements.Additionally, this role is responsible for supporting the project governance processes within the security department and to escalate status and issues to the senior project manager and Security team leads to enable effective decision making and deliver business value for the Security team. The Security Team routinely interacts with senior and executive-level management on both the contractor and customer sides.Responsibilities:· Support the governance and project status review meetings for all security activities· Build strong relationships with clients and internal departments to understand the business challenges and opportunities for improvement· Ability to manage multiple projects (full lifecycle management)· Brief both the customer and fellow contract support on status of security activities· Work closely with the Security team lead, technical leads, and client-side security staff, develop project approach and detailed schedules· Work as a change manager to help roll out the policies and procedures developed for conducting Security team tasks within the environment· Support and train program staff on security processes· Develop detailed reports and present the information on a weekly basis to executive-level management on the customer side QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Systems Engineering, business, or related fields plus six (6) years of related experienceMasters and four (4) years or more experiencePhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience Required Qualifications:Project Management experience; familiarity with an Agile development approach a plusFundamental project management skills within matrix environment and a solid foundation in business process management, tool design and optimization – excellent understanding of the core competencies: (scope, time, budget, risk, quality, integration, resource management, and communications)PM / technology policy development / change management experienceStrong requirements gathering and documentation experienceExpert in collaboration, team building, and customer serviceDemonstrated skill running effective meetings and obtaining buy-in and participation from executive leadersAbility to organize and present reports, create documentation, and track statusExperience working with federal or federal civilian government agenciesFacilitate governance and policy developmentExtensive experience in utilizing the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for implementationStrong oral and written communication skills across all levels of the organizationSelf-starter and problem solver Required Skills:Strong time management and multitasking skills; attention to detailExperience working with multiple high priority tasks simultaneouslyComfortable documenting and defining system security requirementsExcellent oral and written communications skills, including authoring comprehensive reports and white papersAbility to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibilitySenior level documentation and reporting skillsExperience as a government contractor Preferred/Desired Qualifications:Understanding of FISMA and NIST standards; Assessment and Authorization skills a plusMaster’s degree in Systems Engineering, business, or related fieldsWorking knowledge of vulnerabilities and exploits.Experience in developing technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasksWorking knowledge of security architectures and devices Clearance Requirement:Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (High)Job Field: CyberTravel: No
