Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Summary Performs and reports laboratory procedures to ensure accurate patient outcomes, utilizing laboratory skills. Responsible for assigned shifts, with potential for overtime and callbacks, and performs additional duties as needed. Responsibilities Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for timely testing. Executes and reports laboratory procedures. Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory management. Ensures positive patient identification to minimize errors and adverse outcomes. Evaluates results and draws appropriate conclusions. Adheres to regulatory standards, maintains competency, and follows safe laboratory practices. Completes assigned goals effectively. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of an Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or military medical laboratory training, with current or previous certification. Preferred experience in clinical laboratories. Basic computer literacy required; advanced skills are desirable.
