** JOB DESCRIPTION: **
TRAKAmerica is a national leader in accounts receivable management and outsourcing, partnering with many of the country’s largest financial institutions. We are expanding our Legal team and have an immediate opening for an intellectually curious ** Paralegal ** who thrives in fast‐paced, detail‐driven environment and takes pride in producing high-quality work. This position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
** POSITION SUMMARY: **
This role serves as a critical intersection point between the company’s nationwide network of law firms and collection agencies, internal operational teams, and external clients. The position is responsible for overseeing the end‐to‐end lifecycle of inbound cases received through automated intake systems, ensuring accurate processing, timely investigation and effective resolution in accordance with contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs), and client‐specific requirements.
In addition to traditional paralegal and case‐handling responsibilities, this role emphasizes data analysis, process management, remediation and investigative problem‐solving. The individual will analyze data flows, identify breakdowns in data transfers or process execution, research governing process guides and client manuals, and drive resolution strategies tailored to the specific facts and circumstances of each matter.
This is an exempt position since it requires the individual to undertake nonmanual work directly related to the Company’s primary business operations, perform significant legal analysis and research, make recommendations of a legal nature and resolve legal issues, exercise a high level of independent judgment and discretion and, at times, supervise other individuals.
** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILTIES: **
- Act as the primary interaction point for inbound claims received through automated intake and workflow systems.
- Review, triage and process cases to ensure completeness, accuracy and proper routing.
- Investigate the underlying circumstances giving rise to each claim, including legal, operational, procedural and data‐related factors.
- Investigate breakdowns in data transfers, system integrations or specific process points, recognizing that root causes may vary based on client, jurisdiction or operational context.
- Monitor claims against defined SLAs, contractual commitments and internal performance benchmarks.
- Contribute to the refinement of intake workflows, investigation protocols and resolution frameworks.
- Research and interpret process guides, client manuals, contractual provisions and internal policies to support accurate decision‐making.
- Perform limited legal research and analysis to investigate case law, statutes and legal precedents during case management.
- Ask targeted, clarifying questions to uncover missing information and ensure a thorough understanding of each case’s context.
- Clearly communicate investigative findings, recommended resolution paths and status updates in writing and verbally.
- Prepare concise, well‐reasoned summaries for leadership or clients when issues require escalation or strategic decisions.

** JOB COMPETENCIES: **
- Ability to collect and analyze relevant data, legal documents and case law to provide summaries and analysis
- Prior experience managing tasks in a process-oriented environment
- Ability to develop a strong understanding of client-defined processes and data flow requirements
- Exceptional attention to details, problem assessment, sound judgment, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Developed organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to recognize urgent matters and escalate when necessary
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning and decision-making skills
- Strong computer skills using Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2016, Excel, Outlook, and Word. PowerPoint skills are a plus.
** QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: **
Associates degree, certificate in paralegal studies or a minimum of two years of relevant legal experience.
