See and Hear from a Ryder Employee who Drives for Us Here: Pay and Schedule Driver Positions Pay Weekly Solo Miles Pay: $0.42 per Mile with 1,500 Miles per Week Solo Stops Pay: $15.00 per Stop with 55–60 Stops per Week Nights out: 2 Times Per Week with per diem Overnights for Routes in Ryder Booked Hotel Paid Training Schedule: Monday ‑ Friday Start Time: 6:00 AM Routes and Trucks Deliver SOLO to ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NYC including Long Island and Buffalo Tractor Type: Straight Truck 22' and 26', and Sprinter Van Freight: Touch – Glass Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO your first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it) Boot allowance provided Drivers are the Captain — you make safety decisions, and your job is protected 401(k) rollover available now + company match at 1 year 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to specific eligibility criteria, including work tenure) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Requirements Minimum 21 years of age Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience Pass a Ryder Drug Test Must have verifiable driving experience (like equipment if position involves operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check, including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Must have a valid driver’s license Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned. Responsibilities This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service. Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer Other tasks as assigned Think about becoming a company driver?
