About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in relevant clinical settings License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in Telemetry, PCU, DOU, IMC, and stepdown settings - Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response - Competency in chest tubes, trach care, PICC line management, and medication administration - Respiratory skills including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a general medicine PCU. The RN is responsible for providing care to acutely and chronically ill adults. The unit specializes in complex medical diagnoses with a focus on interdisciplinary support. The nurse will administer cardiac drips and manage dysrhythmias without titration. The ideal candidate has experience in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration. Telemetry is monitored on the unit, with tele-sitting implemented for additional support. Patient-to-nurse ratios typically range from 4:1 to 5:1. Floating within skillset to other PCUs or medical-surgical units may be required. The position requires working one holiday during the contract period. Compliance with COVID-19 and flu vaccination policies is mandatory.
