Production Trainee

Employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).A-1 Industries is seeking trainees to join the Production Training Program to gain hands-on experience building roof trusses, floor trusses, and EZWALL Framing Solutions through positions such as Roof Leaders, Roof Assistants, Sawyers, Pickers, Catchers, Stackers. The Truss Assembly Worker is responsible for assembling and securing wood trusses using production equipment and hand tools while ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the process.Key ResponsibilitiesLift, carry, and position lumberAlign cut materials in truss jigsPlace/remove metal plates and secure trussesAdjust/correct plates as neededInspect for quality (plate placement & lumber grade)Operate roller presses and machineryAssemble, label, and bundle trussesPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilityNoneRequirements and Skills:Construction, carpentry, and general labor experience preferredAuthorized to work in the U.S.Must be fluent in English or Spanish.Reliable transportationRequired EducationHigh School graduate preferred but not required.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a manufacturing site environment. Exposure to inclement weather and loud noise, all work will be performed outside.Personal Protective Equipment:Safety glasses and safety footwear must be worn at all times.Auditory and fall protection applicable when required.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently stand on their feet for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. It requires close vision, and depth perception three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk and hear.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, non-exempt salaried position, and typical work hours are based on assigned shift.
