Overview Water/Wastewater Construction Inspector – Rancho Cordova or Manteca, CA Job ID: 15297 • Openings: 1 • Category: Water/Waste Water • Relocation Assistance: Yes • Service Line: ABES Responsibilities Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract plans, provisions, and specifications Proactively identify field issues and discuss solutions with supervisor and contractor Advise contractors of violations of safety procedures and recommend adjustments to bring violations into compliance Execute field measurements of pay items; maintain daily diaries, materials notebooks, redline as-built plans; understand progress schedules, work orders, and monthly estimates Oversee and document materials testing such as soil compaction, concrete and asphalt field tests Document all field activities and collaborate with the owner and contractor Required Skills & Experience High school graduate or GED equivalent is required Associates degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required 6+ years of experience in construction inspection; water or wastewater facility inspection experience is preferred Experience with foundations, buildings, underground utilities, earthwork, asphalt and concrete Ability to work in a timely fashion to meet project requirements Effective communication with clients, coworkers, sub consultants, contractors and agency review staff Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to perform quantity and engineering computations Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces Driving is required; a clean driving record is required Note: If you do not meet every single requirement, you may still be considered for other opportunities at Dewberry.
