Developmental Specialist

BASIC FUNCTION: Develop appropriate outcomes and strategies for children who demonstrate delayed development in areas such as cognitive, social/emotional and behavior. Provide family based therapy that implements the outcomes and strategies outlined on the childs IFSP; teach parents, caregivers, other family members, and other Infant Toddler Therapy Services (ITTS) staff strategies which will reinforce the therapy provided and improve overall functioning for the children. NATURE AND SCOPE: This position interacts regularly with children and their families who are enrolled in the program, ITTS staff and contractors, Service Supports Coordinators, physicians, professional staff from other agencies, other CCC staff and the general public. RESPONSIBILITIES: Review initial evaluation and develop appropriate IFSP outcomes and strategies for children enrolled in the programWork with parents to develop a service plan, which will allow that IFSP outcomes and strategies to be achieved. Provide direct therapy to the children and their families as per physicians prescription, IFSP goals and the childrens service plansProvide parents and caregivers with techniques, activities and strategies, which they can implement to assist their children achieve their IFSP outcomes and strategiesProvide verbal and necessary written feedback to parents, service supports coordinators, and other ITTS staff working with the children as to the childrens progress in completing their IFSP outcomes and strategiesComplete quarterly, six-month progress, annual evaluations, Ounce/ECO assessments and discharges of the children enrolled in the ITTS. This information will also be used for the development of subsequent IFSPs and service support plansAccurately complete a progress note for every service provided to children enrolled in the program and submitting them to the Program Director within 3 days of the date service was providedComplete other documentation of session provided as necessary and maintain this documentation according to CCCs policy on the confidentiality of client informationAttend Bi-monthly meetings for department Promote Early Intervention and our agency through community events.Participate in ITTS trainings and meetings as required by the County and StateOther related duties as required
