Building Maintenance Supervisor

A Shift Parts & Striping Supervisor Reports to: Operations Manager Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM The A Shift Parts & Striping Supervisor is responsible for the people, performance and day-to-day execution of our Parts and Striping departments. The Operations Manager establishes the production plan and priorities. You are accountable for whether Parts and Striping achieve that plan during your shift. That means leading the team, knowing where production stands, maintaining quality and safety standards, solving problems and making adjustments when performance falls behind. Parts and Striping also feed our Sewing operation. Success is not simply hitting individual department numbers. You must ensure both departments work together and reliably support downstream production. This is a leadership role, not a production position. Your primary responsibility is to lead the people and operation, not to spend your shift operating production equipment. What You'll Do Lead the Team Provide day-to-day leadership for employees across Parts and Striping. Set clear expectations for production, quality, safety, attendance and behavior. Maintain a visible and active leadership presence on the production floor. Build relationships with employees through regular floor presence, coaching and day-to-day interaction, not only when performance problems arise. Coach employees, provide direct feedback and address performance issues promptly. Manage attendance, performance evaluations and employee development. Handle corrective action and other employee matters in partnership with HR. Identify training and cross-training opportunities that strengthen team capability. Own Production Execution Execute the production plan and priorities established by the Operations Manager. Know where Parts and Striping stand against plan throughout the shift. Monitor production performance and take action when results begin to fall behind. Deploy and rebalance labor between Parts and Striping based on production requirements. Manage workflow, staffing, materials and equipment to maximize productive time. Coordinate closely with the TSS Supervisor to understand and support downstream requirements. Identify bottlenecks early and establish recovery actions before they materially affect production. Escalate issues requiring changes to the production plan or broader A Shift priorities. Drive Performance and Improvement Own production output, quality, productivity, safety and labor performance within Parts and Striping. Identify operational problems early and address root causes rather than repeatedly working around them. Stop production when immediate safety or quality concerns require it. Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Inventory, HR and other functions to resolve issues. Identify recurring problems and drive practical improvements to process, training, equipment and workflow. Ensure required production and administrative reporting is accurate and complete. Provide clear communication and handoffs to the Operations Manager, TSS Supervisor and other affected leaders. Decision Authority You are expected to make the routine operating decisions necessary to achieve the production plan. Within established priorities, you have authority to: Assign and move employees within Parts and Striping. Adjust workflow and sequencing between the departments. Rebalance labor based on production requirements. Address immediate safety and quality concerns. Coach employees and address routine performance issues. Engage supporting functions to resolve operational problems. Operations Manager approval is required for material changes to the production plan, broader production priorities, overtime, movement of employees outside Parts and Striping and formal corrective action. The expectation is that you make decisions within your authority, solve the problems you can and escalate appropriately when an issue exceeds your scope. What Success Looks Like Parts and Striping consistently achieve the production plan without compromising safety or quality. Both departments operate as one connected system and reliably support TSS. You know where production stands throughout the shift and act before problems materially affect output. Employees understand what is expected of them and are consistently held accountable. Employees receive regular coaching, feedback and development, not just interaction when something goes wrong. Attendance and performance issues are actively managed. Labor and resources are adjusted intelligently as conditions change. Recurring problems result in improvements rather than recurring workarounds. Reporting is accurate, communication is clear and handoffs are clean. What We're Looking For Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing, production or a similar operating environment. Demonstrated ability to lead production employees and hold teams accountable. Experience managing production against measurable goals. Strong understanding of production flow, labor deployment and bottleneck management. Sound judgment and confidence making day-to-day operating decisions. Ability to diagnose problems and take corrective action. Strong communication, organization and follow-through. Ability to coach employees and handle difficult performance conversations. A continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to remain composed under pressure. Industrial sewing or textile manufacturing experience is helpful but not required. Leadership capability and manufacturing experience are more important than technical expertise in our specific processes. Who Will Thrive in This Role This role is best suited for a supervisor who wants real ownership. You should be comfortable knowing the numbers, being present on the floor, making decisions, addressing problems directly and being accountable for the performance of your team. You should enjoy developing people as much as driving production. Strong supervisors do both. If your management style is primarily assigning work, monitoring activity and escalating problems for someone else to solve, this will not be the right role. Reporting Structure The A Shift Parts & Striping Supervisor reports to the Production Manager and directly leads employees assigned to Parts and Striping. The TSS Supervisor separately leads Sewing. Both supervisors work closely together to maintain production flow and execute the Operations Manager's production plan. The Operations Manager sets the plan. You lead Parts and Striping and own the result within your departments.
