Job Overview Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an Energy Manager to support sustainability initiatives across its Daytona Beach, FL and Prescott, AZ campuses. The role leads energy conservation initiatives, data‑driven strategies, and cross‑department collaboration to optimize utility usage and enhance environmental performance. Key Responsibilities Monitor, analyze, and report on utility consumption (electricity, natural gas, water, and waste) and provide monthly insights and performance metrics. Conduct energy audits, benchmarking, and modeling to identify conservation opportunities and improve efficiency. Develop and implement energy management strategies, including energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Track utility budgets and support financial planning through detailed reporting and analysis. Partner with Facilities and other stakeholders to identify and resolve building system inefficiencies (HVAC, lighting, control systems). Support development and execution of the University’s Energy Master Plan and long‑term sustainability goals. Research and pursue utility incentives, rebates, and grant opportunities to support energy projects. Recommend energy conservation measures, system upgrades, and renewable energy solutions to leadership. Promote campus‑wide awareness and engagement in energy conservation initiatives. Serve as a liaison between Facilities, utility providers, and external partners. Qualifications Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Facilities Management, Engineering, Energy Management, or related field. 3–5 years of experience in mechanical, maintenance, or energy management roles. Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, control systems). Experience analyzing utility data and implementing energy conservation measures. Understanding of energy management principles, commissioning, and retro‑commissioning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and system diagrams. Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams. Ability to obtain Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification within two years of hire. Preferred: CEM certification or equivalent. Experience with building automation systems (BAS/DDC) and utility metering systems. Knowledge of energy savings performance contracts and sustainability reporting. Experience with GIS, AI/ML applications related to energy efficiency. Compensation & Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus wellness programs.
