Forklift Operator - 1st Shift

We are hiring a 1st shift Forklift Operator to provide safe and efficient material handling to support customer needs. The hours for this position are 7:00am - 3:30pm. This full-time position will report to the Facility Manager and may occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: Safely inspect, unload, and put away product from inbound trailers, containers, and railcars via lift truck. Operate a stand up and order picker lift truck to pick orders, replenish inventory to pick locations, and load orders onto trailers, containers, and railcars. Utilize all material handling technology to maximize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory. Ensure all safety and position standards of operating procedures are followed. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Reliable transportation to report to scheduled shift. Basic math, reading, and writing skills to ensure accurate counts and paperwork. Ability to operate technology equipment including Radio Frequency (RF) Scanners to manage inventory. Previous knowledge or a desire to learn about product handled at WSI. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Ability to follow instructions and follow through on assigned tasks and responsibilities. Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Previous lift truck experience; loading and unloading trailers, containers, and railcars. Previous experience working in warehouse environment, preferred. Experience operating lift trucks with attachments such as forks, drum clamps or roll clamps. Experience operating an order picker and stand-up lift truck. PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit or stand for extended times throughout hot and cold temperatures. Ability to repetitively twist or turn to drive in reverse and stand, climb, kneel, stoop and squat, as needed. Ability to turn steering wheel on lift truck requiring full rotation of arms and shoulders. Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
