FOOD SERVICE WORKER/CASHIER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Job Summary We are hiring immediately for full‑time and part‑time Food Service Worker/Cashier positions at Shelbyville Central Schools, located at 803 Saint Joseph Street, Shelbyville, IN46176. Applications must be submitted online. Location and Schedule Full‑time and part‑time schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30AM to 2:30PM. Additional details will be provided during the interview. Compensation Pay range: $13.50–$14.00 per hour. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure designated ingredients. Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards. Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment. Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food‑safety, and rotation procedures. Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control. Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service. Interact with customers and resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner. Relay relevant information to supervisor. Perform sales transactions: enter sales into the cash register, make change, accept card payments, issue receipts, and follow procedures for cash refunds. Maintain cash drawer compliance with overage/shortage standards. Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Previous food service and customer service experience preferred (not required). Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
