GTC Asset Specialist

The GTC Asset Specialist position is a data entry focused role. This position is responsible for processing paperwork for purchase and sale transactions in accounts that hold alternative assets.

GoldStar Trust Company is a self-directed IRA Custodian established in 1989. GoldStar is not a fiduciary. Client's direct investment purchases and sales transactions inside their accounts via submission of specific paperwork. GoldStar's role is to process the client's directed asset transactions, produce market value statements and complete tax reporting to the IRS.

Essential duties and responsibilities include processing and preparing requests to liquidate alternative assets in the operating system, processing and preparing requests for in-kind distribution of alternative assets, preparing various orders to complete requested transactions from clients or brokers, reconciling with reporting entities and ensuring records are accurate, conducting research as needed, working in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, completing required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned, and performing any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and experience: High school or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill area; e.g. data processing, clerical/administrative, equipment operation, etc plus 7 - 11 months related experience and/or training.

Communication skills: Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

Critical thinking skills: Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

Software skills required: Intermediate: 10-Key. Basic: Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Word Processing/Typing.

Working conditions: Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.

Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must be able to perform in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team. Must be detail oriented and able to solve problems. Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts that relate to alternative asset transactions. Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Must have the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet, e-mail and a working knowledge of accounting software.
