About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Specialized Experience Supervise and direct armed subordinates engaged in law enforcement and security work Project, plan, and implement staffing requirements Develop plans and procedures to provide for an adequate security program Conduct and direct investigations Conduct training and ensure training needs are met Schedule and approve leave Applicants may not substitute education for experience; qualification must be based solely on experience. Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to veterans' preference if such applicants are available.
