Job Description:
As a Java Developer , you will design, develop, and support backend services that power high-volume charting, market data, and analytics solutions. This role requires close collaboration with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications within an Agile development environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on software engineer who enjoys working on mission-critical applications, taking ownership of features throughout the software development lifecycle, and contributing to the design and delivery of modern backend services and APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services supporting charting, analytics, and data-driven applications.

• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

• Design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations for internal and customer-facing applications.

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, technical designs, and best practices.

• Support release activities and ensure system stability, availability, scalability, and performance.

• Develop and maintain distributed and client/server applications.

• Optimize application performance and reliability through continuous improvement initiatives.

• Take ownership of features from design through deployment and ongoing support.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.

• 4+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, object-oriented analysis, and design principles.

• Experience designing, developing, and supporting backend services and RESTful APIs.

• Experience building and supporting distributed systems and client/server applications.

• Strong experience with Spring Framework and related Java technologies.

• Experience developing and supporting applications in Linux and/or Windows environments.

• Experience with source control systems, automated testing frameworks, build tools, and deployment pipelines.

• Experience working with relational databases and data access technologies.

• Knowledge of messaging technologies and event-driven architectures.

• Experience analyzing and improving application performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Demonstrated ability to independently own features from requirements through production support.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience participating in code reviews and technical design discussions.

• Experience working within Agile development methodologies and teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Experience with real-time streaming, market data platforms, or data-intensive applications is preferred.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern software delivery practices is a plus.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
