Credit AnalystAt Ascentium Capital, the Credit Analyst evaluates commercial loan applications for new loan transactions as well as for processing annual loan reviews on existing borrowers.Ascentium Capital, a division of Regions Bank, provides convenient access to financing for business equipment and technology and serves small organizations to Fortune 500 companies with programs that benefit manufacturers, distributors and direct to businesses nationwide. We strive to be the premier provider of customized finance programs that add value to our customers' businesses.Primary ResponsibilitiesReviews and analyzes complex credit information in order to make appropriate credit decisions within established policies and regulationsInitiates, completes, and submits accurate credit-related reports and documentation on a timely basis in accordance with established business processes and assists the origination channels in achieving business goals and objectivesParticipates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of uniform credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and enhance external and internal customer satisfactionOrders and reviews loan documentation and researches any issues as neededGathers and maintains financial background information on present and prospective customers and develops credit studies for loan officers and committees as neededDevelops, implements, and maintains uniform credit policies and procedures to ensure consistency and enhance external and internal customer satisfactionWorks closely with the senior executives on all business opportunities and issues related to credit policies and credit decisionsCoordinates communication between the sales team, potential customers, and the review committee on credit, underwriting, and funding related issuesWorks in conjunction with the appropriate managers and executives to support each business units' performance goals and service standardsProvides recommendations and feedback regarding continuous improvement opportunitiesWorks under limited supervision following established guidelines and proceduresProvides advice and guidance to junior specialists as neededThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.This position is incentive eligible.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related fieldSeven (7) years of experience in commercial/bank underwriting or related experiencePreferencesExperience with Fair Isaac credit modelsCompletion of a formal bank underwriting trainingSkills and CompetenciesAbility to learn additional systems as neededAbility to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to research, analyze data, and derive factsAbility to work in a team environment when applicableAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Strong attention to detail and proof-reading skillsStrong skills in calculating financial ratiosStrong understanding of personal and business credit reportsStrong verbal, written communication, and organizational skillsStrong work ethic and self-motivationPosition TypeFull timeCompensation DetailsPay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions.
