This role will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis functions that are critical to realizing VTL's mission and vision. The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team and will have significant visibility across the organization, including senior leadership, the VTL Board, and field operations.In collaboration with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Financial Analyst will lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes and perform financial analysis for the organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will develop financial models, monitor budget-to-actual performance, translate financial data into clear, actionable insights, and play an instrumental role in implementing and optimizing the organization's FP&A software.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesPartner with Operations and Development staff to support accurate budgeting and reportingPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses and cash flow projectionsDevelop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support organizational planning and long-range financial strategyMonitor spending against grant and program budgetsPrepare financial reporting materials and schedules for government, corporate, and foundation grantsImplement FP&A software and build out budgeting processes and reportsSupport the preparation of financial statements and board-specific reportingAssist with audit readiness by preparing and updating supporting schedules and analysesThis is a general description of the job duties; other duties may be assigned by the manager as needed.QualificationsBachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent combination of education and relevant finance experience4+ years of professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accountingPrior experience working in a nonprofitUnderstanding of grant budgets and restricted funding, including the analysis and reporting of government, corporate, and foundation grantsTechnology savvy with advanced knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and reporting software and the ability to work with financial data across multiple systemsPreferred QualificationsExpert-level Excel skills working with complex workbooks using formulas, macros, and pivot tablesStrong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insightsExperience with Sage IntacctPrior experience in nonprofit finance, including fund and grant budgeting and monitoringAbility to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHighly motivated, resourceful, and flexible, with a positive attitudeEffective communication and documentation skillsSalary and BenefitsSalary range of $95,000–$110,000 annually, depending on relevant experience, qualifications, and work locationPaid time off and company holidaysMedical, dental, and vision insuranceProfessional development opportunitiesLife insuranceFlexible spending account
