Senior Project Accountant

Adaptive Solutions Group is actively seeking experienced Senior Project Accountants for multiple direct-hire opportunities in the St. Louis area. We are looking for accounting professionals who excel at managing the financial side of complex projects while partnering closely with Project Managers and Operations to drive successful business outcomes. If you have experience with project accounting, job costing, construction billing, and financial reporting, we'd love to speak with you. Responsibilities Manage the financial lifecycle of projects from setup through closeout. Prepare and analyze job cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and profitability metrics. Partner with Project Managers to provide financial guidance and support project decision‑making. Prepare customer billings, including AIA billing and supporting documentation. Review contracts and ensure billing aligns with contractual requirements. Prepare month‑end journal entries, account reconciliations, and project financial reporting. Monitor project costs, identify financial risks and opportunities, and recommend solutions. Process and reconcile project‑related invoices, subcontractor costs, retainage, and other project accounting activities. Support month‑end close, reporting, and continuous process improvements. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of accounting experience, including project accounting or construction accounting. Strong understanding of job costing, project financial management, and construction billing. Experience with AIA billing, retainage, and subcontractor accounting is preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
