Overview
Registered Nurse, Med Surg, Herrin, IL, US. This travel, temporary assignment starts 07/13/2026 for a 13-week term with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekly pay ranges from $1,568 to $1,689. Shift: Nights. Setting: hospital-based medical-surgical care with potential unit-fluid responsibilities. This assignment includes floating to clinically appropriate Med/Surg departments as needed and requires every-other-weekend coverage and on-call as dictated by unit needs.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult Med/Surg patients on the orthopedics and general surgical unit.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, perform nursing procedures, and document care in the electronic medical record.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessments, develop and update care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.
- Respond to changes in patient status, perform clinical interventions, and escalate concerns per policy.
- Float to clinically appropriate units within scope of practice and licensure as needed.
- Adhere to unit-specific safety standards and required certifications (NIHSS, BLS, ACLS) as applicable to the assigned unit.

Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Illinois (or eligible)
- Certifications: BLS and NIHSS; ACLS as required by the specific unit
- Ability to work nights and fulfill guaranteed hours in a hospital setting
- Willingness and ability to float to other Med/Surg departments as needed within scope of practice
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Weekend/on-call availability as required by the assignment
