Research Technician - Building Energy Sciences

Position Overview Research Technician - Building Energy Sciences. Location: Golden, Colorado. 40 hours per week. Job Responsibilities Lead and maintain experiments, sensors, and laboratory facilities. Troubleshoot and maintain complex mechanical and electrical equipment. Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain a safe operating environment. Support field test work, including limited travel. Assist in design, fabrication, and execution of R&D experiments under supervision of engineering staff. Set up computers and controls, and monitor equipment during experiments. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of relevant experience, or Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification with 5+ years of relevant experience. Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work safely from a ladder. Strong technical skills: interpret schematics, construct apparatuses, generate schematics and drawings, and explain component functions. Solid communication, interpersonal, project management, and customer‑relations skills. Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Office. Experience working independently. Commitment to security, health, and safety (ES&H). Preferred Qualifications Experience with building energy systems research, HVAC, water heaters, refrigeration, major appliances, lighting, and energy‑management systems is highly desirable.
