Tax Senior Manager - Corporations

RSM is a global provider of professional services to the middle market, helping corporate tax clients meet accounting and tax reporting requirements while managing the impact of tax on their business.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a career advisor, mentor, or coach to employees and provide honest performance feedback (approximately 10–20% of time).
- Drive growth and profitability of the industry/specialty area through new revenue generation, cross‑selling, and acquisition of new clients for the tax practice (approximately 30–40% of time).
- Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, consulting, etc. (approximately 20–40% of time).
- Train and develop staff members.
- Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a non‑technical manner to facilitate client‑team communication and manage risk for the client and the firm.
- Lead and manage the business relationship of complex engagements with a focus on high‑value quality tax advice and seek to expand services to clients.
- Serve as tax client service coordinator while developing and executing the firm’s client service plan.
- Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
- Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach.
- Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance.
- Remain up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Some travel may be required.
All percentages may vary based on location, line of business, and client need.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA, JD, LLM, or EA credential.
- 8 or more years of public accounting experience working with C‑Corp clients or equivalent in law firms or industry.
- Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740.
- Proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients.
- Ability to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business.
- Ability to generate new business and extend service opportunities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project management and critical thinking skills.
- Experience dealing with international tax matters.
- Fluency in French, German, Japanese, or Mandarin (speaking, writing, reading) and deep cultural understanding of the respective country.
- Proven track record of managing relationships with large non‑U.S. companies with significant operations in North America.

Compensation Range: $126,100 – $253,000.
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
