Electrical Engineer I

Location: 14000 Technology Dr., Eden Prairie, MN 55344, USA Job Type: Full‑time Primary Objective To perform design, development, and support work on new and existing MTS products in such a way to enhance or maintain their value, profitability, and/or importance to the company. Major Areas of Accountability Design and develop electrical control systems, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and schematics. Specify, select, and integrate electrical components including drives, sensors, relays, and instrumentation. Lead or support machine and system commissioning, startup, and validation activities. Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes and standards. Evaluating systems’ safety, reliability, and performance. Develop and maintain the bill of materials and drawings for electrical products. PLC and HMI programming. Wago and Siemens preferred. Understanding of functional safety and performance levels. Provide technical support for internal and external customers. Develop, implement, and maintain overall test activities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Develop concepts and designs that meet or exceed the system's cost and performance goals. Also, develop concepts and designs for support of pre‑sale applications as applicable. Plans and estimates cross‑functional development efforts. Provide technical reports, presentations, knowledge sharing. Review progress & evaluate results related to projects. Support digital communication and third‑party interfaces. Interface with vendors of electronic components, key development tools, and technologies. Lead documentation and processes that conform with ISO quality objectives. General Qualifications BS degree in electrical engineering or related field. Expected travel averaging less than 10%, domestic and international.
