• Patient Demographics: Emergency Department Patients

• Patient Volume/Census: 19,000 Annual ED Visits

• Admissions: As Required

• Case Mix: Emergency Medicine

FACILITY INFORMATION

• No. of Beds in Department: 5 ED Beds (25-Bed Critical Access Hospital)

• Trauma Level: TBD

• EMR System: Ochsner Epic

• Specialty Backup Available: CT Scan, ICU, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound Services

• Support Staff Available: Emergency Department Clinical Support Team

• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Standard Emergency Medicine Procedures

• Emergency Stabilization and Treatment

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Active Louisiana Medical License

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine

• Active Louisiana DEA and Louisiana Controlled Substance License Required

• ACLS, ATLS, and PALS Required for Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Physicians

• Experience: Emergency Medicine Experience Required

• Other Qualifications: Actual Louisiana License, Board Certification, Louisiana DEA, and Louisiana Controlled Substance License Required at Presentation; Fellowship Preferred; Telehealth Experience Not Required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide emergency department physician coverage

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients

• Perform emergency stabilization and acute care management

• Coordinate specialty consultations and patient transfers as needed

• Complete accurate documentation within Epic EMR
