Director, IT M&A

Job OverviewHubbell is seeking an experienced IT mergers and acquisitions leader who will drive the full M&A IT lifecycle and be accountable for strategy, planning, and program execution. This role will personally direct IT due diligence planning and execution for prospective deals, partnering closely with Business Development and supporting functions to shape deal strategy and the approach. The role requires strong executive presence, strategic thinking, deep IT systems and infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to operate across multiple concurrent deals in fast-paced, highly confidential environments.#LI-JT1#hybridResponsibilities:Team Leadership & Organizational ManagementLead and develop the IT M&A function across pre-close due diligence, post-close integration, program delivery, while ensuring compliance.Set direction, priorities, and performance expectations across the pre-close, post-close, program-management, and controls disciplines.Work closely with Senior Leaders, business and functional leaders to ensure alignment across the operating model, integration approach and organizational structure. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing, geographically distributed M&A IT team, managing resource allocation across multiple concurrent deals.Due Diligence Strategy & Execution (Pre-Close Leadership)Drive overall IT due diligence approach and maintain due diligence playbooks to ensure effectiveness, accuracy, and repeatability across acquisitions.Direct comprehensive IT due diligence — assessing target-company infrastructure, applications, security posture, and operational processes — and consolidate findings into executive-ready risk assessments.Work with stakeholders to develop IT integration cost estimates and preliminary post-close integration plans, including timelines, resource requirements, and dependencies.Partner with Business Development and supporting functions to align IT diligence with overall deal strategy and valuation.Integration & Program OversightOversee the development and execution of post-close IT integration strategies across infrastructure consolidation, application rationalization, data migration, and system integration.Ensure integration teams develop and deliver detailed plans within agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Drive continuous improvement and lean practices to simplify and accelerate M&A programs.Drive IT security hardening exercises post-close to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.Ensure appropriate controls and compliance requirements are embedded in every deal.Lead IT planning and execution for divestitures—including carve-out, separation, and Transition Service Agreement (TSA) requirements—ensuring a clean, secure hand-off of divested systems, applications, and data.Develop executive communications, steering committee updates, and integration governance reporting.Own IT M&A budget estimates and track actuals against integration cost projections across the deal portfolio.Executive Stakeholder Management & ReportingServe as the primary IT M&A liaison to executive leadership — Business Development, Integration functional leaders, and IT/Business executives.Provide summarized integration updates, open requests, risks, and mitigation plans to executive leadership.Represent IT in deal-governance forums and communicate status, risks, and financials to senior management.Serve as the senior IT escalation point for all active M&A engagements.Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 14 years of enterprise-wide IT experience, with a proven record leading M&A integration and transformation programs and managing cross-functional teams.Demonstrated success leading IT due diligence and delivering complex, multi-deal IT integration programs within established timelines and budgets.Experience directly managing and developing teams, including geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.Strong knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, enterprise applications, and security.Working knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGC) and SOX compliance as applied to acquisitions.Exceptional executive communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Experience in change management and driving organizational adoption of new IT systems and processes.Project/program management certification (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.Experience in the M&A or corporate development function strongly preferred.Hubbell IncorporatedHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
