Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager

Location: Compton, CA (100% Onsite)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to lead and implement safety programs across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while fostering a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain plant safety programs and policies across multiple sites
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
Partner with leadership and employees to promote a proactive safety culture
Conduct safety audits, inspections, and environmental risk assessments
Track, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance metrics
Manage workers' compensation programs, including return-to-work coordination
Oversee PPE programs, near-miss reporting, and corrective action processes
Ensure compliance with OSHA and all local, state, and federal regulations
Coordinate and deliver safety training programs
Support emergency response planning and execution
Maintain accurate documentation and regulatory records

Qualifications

High School Diploma with 5+ years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment

OR
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field with 3+ years of experience
Direct EH&S responsibility in a manufacturing setting is required
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance standards
Experience conducting audits, investigations, and safety training
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Stable work history

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in food manufacturing environments
Bilingual in Spanish
Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist)
Experience with LMS platforms (e.g., Alchemy)

Work Environment

100% onsite role in a manufacturing setting
Exposure to refrigerated environments (40-50°F), machinery, and moderate noise levels
Up to 25% domestic travel required

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
Ability to perform tasks involving bending, climbing, and reaching
