We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning & Estate Administration Attorney to join our growing practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 5+ years of experience who is passionate about delivering sophisticated estate planning solutions, guiding clients through estate and trust administration, and helping shape the future of a collaborative legal team.


The ideal candidate is a strategic advisor, confident communicator, and natural mentor who enjoys building lasting client relationships while contributing to the firm's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and implement comprehensive estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and advanced wealth transfer strategies.
• Manage all aspects of probate, trust, and estate administration from inception through final distribution.
• Advise individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners on estate planning, wealth preservation, and succession planning strategies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and clear legal guidance throughout every stage of representation.
• Lead complex client matters while collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Mentor and develop junior attorneys by providing legal guidance, technical training, and constructive feedback to support their professional growth.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, seminars, and educational events to strengthen client relationships and expand the firm's visibility.
• Contribute to business development initiatives through networking, referral relationship management, community involvement, and thought leadership.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships through additional planning and advisory services.
• Stay current on changes in estate planning, probate, trust administration, and tax laws to provide proactive legal counsel.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing with the North Carolina state bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing estate planning and estate administration.
• Demonstrated experience handling sophisticated estate planning matters and probate/trust administration independently.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and trust tax concepts.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and confidence with clients.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior attorneys or legal staff is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail.
• Business development experience, including networking, client relationship management, and generating new business, is highly desirable.
