Sterile Processing Technician

Provides hospital and affiliated facilities with processed materials and equipment by executing established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization. Maintains efficient flow of processing procedures, through appropriate case set-up, anticipation of health care provider requests and patient care needs.

Performs tasks to decontaminate, prepare and package medical surgical supplies. Unloads, sorts and picks up linen from semi-trailer and delivers to departments. Completes sterilization procedures, monitors processed storage and distribution of medical surgical supplies to various areas.

Education:

Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred: Sterile processing training

Related Experience:

Minimum: Graduate of a sterile processing program

One year of general work experience

Agreement to get certification in sterile processing within 1 year of hire

Preferred: Certification in Central Sterile Processing

Membership in Central Sterile Processing Professional Organization

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Minimum: Basic computer skills

Preferred: Familiar with Microsoft office programs

80hrs per pp- 3p-1130p variable. on call

Weekends and Holidays to be scheduled in accordance with CBA
