Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Silverdale, Washington.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother Baby/L&D position requiring LDRP experience and a WA or compact RN license.Details\n \n Acute care setting in a Birthing Center/Mother Baby unit combining L&D and Postpartum\n 13 L&D beds, 2 OR suites for C-sections, 2 triage beds, and 14 postpartum beds\n High volume unit averaging 170-190 births per month\n Follows AWHONN staffing ratios of 1:2 for L&D and 1:3-4 for couplets\n Patient population includes 32 weeks gestation and above, high risk, preeclampsia, diabetic, and psych/social cases\n RNs required to titrate drips including Magnesium, Pitocin, and Insulin\n Uses EPIC EMR and Centricity-Perinatal for EFM\n 24/7 in-house OB/hospitalist, NNP in nursery, and OB anesthesia provider\n Surgical tech available 24/7 with additional patient care assistant support each shift\n Night shift schedule with every other weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday nights)\n Standby call may be required with a 45-minute response time\n Floating limited to Mother Baby and Postpartum within the same unit, no floating to NICU or outside the department\n Requirements\n \n Active WA state or compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted\n BLS and NRP certifications required, intermediate or advanced FHM preferred\n Minimum 2 years of RN experience required\n LDRP experience required\n Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections\n Must be comfortable assisting with catching and transitioning newborns\n Must be able to function in Postpartum with routine mom and baby competencies\n Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility\n Copy of driver's license required for consideration\n Additional Information\n \n Free-standing charge nurse on both shifts who does not take a patient assignment\n Scrubs and a locker are provided\n Holiday coverage rotates in alongside permanent staff\n Unit orientation includes an 8-hour compliance day, 8-hour EPIC class, and 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation\n Unit manager provides ongoing feedback and expects adaptability to unit workflows and policies\n First-time travelers will not be considered for this position\n Candidates who have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-associated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-759333.
