24-Hour OB/GYN Coverage

Shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 AM

Provider Must Be Available to Respond at Any Time During Coverage

Patient Population / Volume

Approximately 1-5 Patients Per Day

Obstetric and Gynecologic Patients

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide Inpatient OB/GYN Coverage

Perform Daily Rounding on All Patients Admitted to the Service

Evaluate and Manage Consultations Received During the Assignment

Provide OB/GYN Call Coverage to the Emergency Department

Respond to Precipitous Deliveries

Perform Vaginal Deliveries

Perform Cesarean Sections

Provide Gynecology Consultation and Treatment to the Emergency Department

Manage Conditions Occurring During Pregnancy Through the Postpartum Period

Provide Surgical Intervention as Clinically Indicated

Required Procedures / Skills

Vaginal Deliveries

Cesarean Sections

Diagnosis and Management of Conditions During Pregnancy Through Postpartum

Major and Minor Abdominal Surgical Procedures

Major and Minor Vaginal Surgical Procedures

Procedures Involving the Female Pelvis and Related Structures

Must Be Comfortable With All Required OB/GYN Procedures

Support Staff

Hospital-Based Support Staff

Requirements

Board Certified OR Board Eligible in Obstetrics/Gynecology - Required

Nebraska Medical License OR IMLC With Active Letter of Qualification - Required

Completion of an ACGME/AOA-Accredited Residency Training Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology - Required

At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Obstetrics/Gynecology - Required

Clean Malpractice History - Highly Preferred

Availability at Time of Name Clear - Required

Credentialing

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 60-90 Days
