General Manager

Overview

The Director of Operations & General Manager will lead a commercial interior design and millwork fabrication firm, overseeing daily operations, production, staffing, and financial performance while driving process improvement, efficiency, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have deep production experience in custom cabinetry or specialty fabrication, a strategic mindset, and a passion for operational excellence in a founder-led environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations across all departments including design, production, and administration
• Own full P&L and work with ownership to set and achieve profit margin goals
• Supervise millwork production and ensure adherence to quality, cost, and timeline goals
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices
• Manage and mentor department leads and staff across a team of 30+ employees
• Recruit and retain top talent aligned with company values and goals
• Introduce and manage software tools for project management and tracking
• Report KPIs and performance metrics to leadership

Qualifications

• 10+ years in operations or general management, preferably in design-build or manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of production processes, project management, and operational strategy
• Proven experience in process improvement, cost control, and system integration
• Leadership experience with cross-functional teams
• Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
