Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Electrical Construction Location: Fullerton, CA (On-Site) About the Opportunity JML Search is partnering with a leading commercial electrical contractor to identify an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to continue building a long-term career in commercial electrical construction while working alongside experienced Project Managers on large-scale projects throughout Southern California. Location & Travel This is a full-time, on-site position based out of the Fullerton Corporate Office . Regular travel throughout the workweek between the Corporate Office and assigned project sites across Southern California is required. Candidates should be comfortable commuting to various project locations based on project assignments and business needs. -Please note remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available. Responsibilities Support Project Managers throughout all phases of commercial electrical construction projects. Coordinate the procurement of project materials, equipment, and supplies. Manage purchase orders and help ensure materials are delivered according to project schedules. Monitor material shortages and backorders while proactively communicating potential impacts. Coordinate equipment rentals and deliveries for active job sites. Work closely with warehouse, logistics, vendors, and field personnel to support project execution. Coordinate prefabrication activities with field leadership and fabrication teams. Assist with project documentation, RFIs, submittals, schedules, change orders, and other project administration tasks. Help maintain project schedules while supporting successful project delivery. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience supporting commercial electrical construction projects as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Coordinator. Experience working on commercial electrical projects valued at approximately $2 million or greater is preferred. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction drawings. Construction Management degree or related field is preferred. AutoCAD experience is a plus. Experience using Accubid or similar estimating software is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Self‑motivated with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
