Diesel Technician

Job Summary We are currently hiring a Diesel Technician who will be responsible for preventative maintenance, inspections, diagnostic tests, and repairs on our trucks, including equipment by Peterbilt, Kenworth and Freightliners. This includes all general and complex repairs. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled and non‑routine repairs to company/contractor fleet to meet DOT standards. Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair. Suspension and steering systems diagnostics and repair. Air and hydraulic braking systems diagnostics and repair. Electrical and lighting diagnostics and repair. Preventable Maintenance repairs. Changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Maintaining a clean and neat shop. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum: 1+ year of general heavy‑duty diesel mechanic experience. Basic tool set for job functions. Working knowledge of telematics systems and diagnostic software. Basic computer skills required. Ability to read and understand operating manuals, service manuals, and written instruction. Valid Class C driver’s license. Ability to clearly read, write, and speak English. Basic math calculations. Must be at least 18 years of age. Preferred Qualifications Cummins or Detroit Certifications. Commercial Inspection Certification. Skills and Abilities Engine diagnosis. Engine repair. Preventable maintenance. Wheel seals, water pumps, A/C components, compressors. APU's. Basic math. Tool utilization. Truck repair. Electronic diagnostics. Mechanical repair. Knowledge of Cummins X15 engine, Detroit DD15 engine. Diesel repair. Fleet mechanic/technician experience. Physical Demands Maneuvering around, in, on, and under trucks/tight spaces to properly inspect and diagnose problems. Standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, pushing, and pulling with a full range of body movements. Using hands to handle, control or feel. Climbing ladders, stairs, and platforms.
