Broadcast Operations Management Lead, Local Media

Our partner is looking for a Broadcast Operations Management Lead, Local Media based in the United States. This leadership role oversees the day-to-day operational execution of live and time-shifted sports broadcasts across multiple markets. You will lead a team of full-time and supplemental Operations Managers while establishing consistent standards for production readiness, logistics, quality, and accountability. The role sits at the intersection of broadcast operations, production technology, engineering, distribution, teams, and external vendors. You will help scale production models, improve workflows, anticipate operational risks, and strengthen reliability across a growing media environment. The position combines people leadership, vendor management, technical coordination, and strategic operational planning. It is ideal for an experienced broadcast professional who can balance high-pressure live production requirements with longer-term process and program improvements. Accountabilities: - Lead and develop the Broadcast Operations Management team, including full-time employees and supplemental Operations Managers supporting live and time-shifted productions across multiple markets. - Establish team priorities, operating standards, workflows, responsibilities, and performance expectations to drive consistent execution and accountability. - Oversee production operations, including technical coordination, crew planning, vendor readiness, schedules, venue requirements, and other operational dependencies. - Ensure Operations Managers have the information, tools, resources, and cross-functional alignment needed to effectively support assigned productions and teams.

- Establish production readiness, communication, escalation, and quality-control processes while serving as a key escalation point for complex or time-sensitive operational issues. - Build strong relationships with sports teams and local media stakeholders to understand market-specific requirements and provide effective operational support. - Manage relationships with production, mobile unit, crewing, master control, and other broadcast service vendors, establishing expectations, service levels, procedures, and escalation paths. - Support vendor planning, evaluation, and commercial discussions by providing operational requirements, performance insights, resource needs, and recommendations. - Partner with vendors and internal teams to anticipate staffing, equipment, facility, scheduling, and logistical requirements throughout the production calendar. - Collaborate closely with Technical Managers, Broadcast Engineering, and Production Technology to integrate technical systems, workflows, and standards into daily broadcast operations. - Coordinate the transition of new systems and production capabilities into operational use through documentation, testing, training, rehearsals, and readiness planning. - Provide structured feedback to technology and engineering teams regarding recurring issues, technical dependencies, workflow improvements, reliability, and usability. - Establish contingency plans, escalation procedures, and operational safeguards that support resilient live and time-shifted production. - Develop standardized operating procedures, production playbooks, planning tools, and performance measures that enable consistent execution across markets. - Lead projects supporting production program growth, including new markets, increased production volume, evolving production models, resource planning, and expanded capabilities. - Analyze operational performance, production incidents, vendor trends, and resource utilization to identify risks and opportunities for greater efficiency, quality, and scalability.
